Work in Progress

LI: I will find ways to share my thoughts, feelings, and ideas with others.

Sometimes, Haji finds it hard to put his thoughts into words, but he is learning that there are many ways to express himself. Whether through talking, writing, drawing, or even building with LEGO, he can share his ideas and feelings in his own way. The more he practices, the more confident he becomes, because his voice matters.

As he practices, his confidence grown, and so does the understanding of those around him. His peers are learning new ways to show empathy and patience, finding better ways to explain tasks and include him in what they do. Together, they are creating a space where everyone’s voice matters.

Maths through Lego

WALT copy the patterns using shapes

WHAT when we have built the structure using Lego and what I can see in the picture

For Haji, communication is sometimes difficult for others to understand, but we are finding out new ways of communicating, We use picture cues, or pointing or single spoken words. If we listen carefully, it can be quite clear with what he wants.

For Haji, LEGO isn’t just a toy, it’s a way to see the world. He carefully studies patterns, matching colours and shapes, building exactly what he sees in a photo. With every brick, he’s not just creating structures; he’s growing his focus, patience, and confidence. Piece by piece, he’s proving to himself, and everyone else, just how capable he is.

Remember Me

WALT write about me. WHAT when I have written my name and drawn my picture to explain 2 points about me.

Haji worked alongside Matua today remembering what he had learned with Whaea Lorraine. He is developing his communication with others. We talked about what we saw outside and then we wrote together. Haji has learned to ask for help when he can.

Haji and I talked about the what was happening outside. We felt the raindrops in our hands, it felt cold.
